SMS Terms & Messaging Policy
Last updated: August 5, 2026
This page describes Protocol MD Order Updates — Protocol MD’s only text messaging program — how you join it, and how you leave it. It is the reference for our messaging disclosures and for carrier review.
1. Our messaging program
We operate one text messaging program, named Protocol MD Order Updates. It is transactional only and covers a single use case: notifications about your order and your account. We do not send promotional or marketing text messages of any kind, and we do not operate any other messaging program.
- Protocol MD Order Updates — order status, shipping, and subscription renewals.
We do not send clinical messages by text. Anything about your assessment, your treatment, or a message from your care provider reaches you by email or in the patient portal — never SMS.
2. How you opt in
Consent is collected on the contact step of our online assessment at protocolmd.com/quiz, directly beneath the field where you enter your mobile number.
Text messaging is optional. It is its own checkbox, separate from the agreements you accept to be treated, and it is unchecked by default. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase — you can complete your assessment, place an order, and be treated without ever agreeing to be texted. You can also stop the messages at any time by replying STOP.
When you check a box we record the date and time, your IP address, the phone number you provided, and the exact wording you agreed to.
3. The exact consent language
Verbatim, as it appears beside the optional text-messaging checkbox:
Text me order updates — Protocol MD Order Updates. I agree to receive text messages from Protocol MD about my order status, shipping, and subscription renewals. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Support: care@protocolmd.com or (914) 222-2990. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.
4. Message frequency
Message frequency varies. Messages are sent as events on your order occur — for example when it ships, or ahead of a subscription renewal.
5. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Protocol MD does not charge for text messages; your mobile carrier’s standard rates apply.
6. How to stop messages (STOP)
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive one final confirmation message, and then no further messages in that program. You can also opt out by emailing care@protocolmd.com. Opting out does not affect your ability to be treated.
STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT are all honored.
7. How to get help (HELP)
Reply HELP to any message for support information, or contact us at care@protocolmd.com or (914) 222-2990 — the same contact details shown on the opt-in itself. For questions about your care, message your care provider through the patient portal.
8. Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to your carrier’s network and your device.
9. Privacy
We do not sell or share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties for their own marketing. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Protected health information is handled as described in our HIPAA Notice.
