SMS Terms & Messaging Policy
Last updated: July 31, 2026
This page describes Protocol MD’s text messaging programs, how you join them, and how you leave them. It is the reference for our messaging disclosures and for carrier review.
1. Our two messaging programs
We operate two separate programs, and you consent to them separately. Agreeing to one never enrolls you in the other, and neither is a condition of purchase.
- Care messages (transactional) — updates about your assessment, your prescription, shipping, and messages from your physician.
- Marketing messages — offers, product news, and educational content.
2. How you opt in
Both consents are collected on the contact step of our online assessment at protocolmd.com/quiz, directly beneath the field where you enter your mobile number.
Care messages are part of the required care-communications consent — they are how your physician reaches you about your own assessment, prescription, and shipment. You can stop them at any time by replying STOP.
Marketing messages are a separate, optional checkbox that is not pre-selected, is not bundled with acceptance of our Terms, and is never a condition of purchase. You can complete an assessment and buy without checking it.
When you check a box we record the date and time, your IP address, the phone number you provided, and the exact wording you agreed to.
3. The exact consent language
Marketing messages, verbatim as it appears beside the checkbox:
By checking this box, you agree to receive marketing text messages from Protocol MD at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.
Care messages, verbatim as it appears beside the required consent:
I agree to receive communications about my care from Protocol MD by email, phone, and text — including my assessment, prescription, shipment, and physician messages. Msg & data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
4. Message frequency
Message frequency varies. Care messages are sent as events in your care occur. Marketing message volume depends on the campaigns running at the time.
5. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Protocol MD does not charge for text messages; your mobile carrier’s standard rates apply.
6. How to stop messages (STOP)
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive one final confirmation message, and then no further messages in that program. You can also opt out by emailing care@protocolmd.com. Opting out of marketing messages does not stop care messages about an active prescription, and opting out of either does not affect your ability to be treated.
STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT are all honored.
7. How to get help (HELP)
Reply HELP to any message for support information, or contact us at care@protocolmd.com. For questions about your care, message your physician through the patient portal.
8. Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to your carrier’s network and your device.
9. Privacy
We do not sell or share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties for their own marketing. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Protected health information is handled as described in our HIPAA Notice.
